Ingredients
Makes about 2 cups
- 1 can (400 g / 15 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained, rinsed, and patted dry
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 1½ teaspoons raw honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon fresh lime zest (from 1 lime)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- After rinsing and drying chickpeas thoroughly, transfer them to a medium bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together avocado oil, sriracha, honey, lime zest, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Toss chickpeas in the sauce until evenly coated. Spread chickpeas in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Roast for 30–40 minutes, shaking the pan every 10 minutes for even crisping, until chickpeas are golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
